How do I add a Contact Form to my Joomla web site?

The Contacts Component creates a directory of Contacts. This can be used in a variety of ways but is generally used to provide users with all contacts available on your site, or within a company.

Using the Contacts Component, you can also create a Contact Form allowing users to email you.

Click the Components menu option

The Components menu will display

Click the Contacts/Category option

The Category Manager page will display

Click the New icon displayed at the top of the page

Type a title in the Title field

Select the Yes radio button in the Published section

Click Save icon at the top of the page

To Add a Contact:

Click the Components menu option

The Components menu will display

Click the Contacts/Contacts option

The Contact Manager page will display

Click the New icon displayed at the top of the page

Type the name of your Contact in the Name field

Select the Contacts Category you have just created

Select the User from the Linked to User drop down

Note:You will have had to create a user in the User Manager

Type any further information in the Information section

Select any Parameters that you want to display from the Parameters section

If you want your users to be able to make contact through email, you must click the E-mail Form Show radio button

Click the Save icon displayed at the top of the page

To Add a Contact Us menu item:

Click the Menus option

The Menus option will display

Click the Main Menu option

The Menu Item Manager page will display

Click the New icon displayed at the top of the page

Select the Internal Link hyperlink

Select Contacts from the list

Select the Contact Category Layout hyperlink from the list

The Contact Category Layout page will display

Type your title in the Title field

Select the Select Category drop down list

Select the Contact Category you have just created

Click the Save icon

If you now view your Joomla web site you will see the Contact Us link on the Main Menu. Clicking this link will display your contact. If you click the Contact name you will see that a Contact form will be displayed
